My Journey at OVUONG
Location: Saigon, Vietnam
OVUONG is a startup, so I take on multiple roles—from designing logos, leaflets, business cards, and internal company advertisements to UX design, persona development, conducting surveys, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, and even A/B testing after the programming phase of client projects.
Here, I work directly with clients, gathering requirements, drafting questions, conducting interviews, and analyzing results to guide project development with programmers. I collaborate on solutions to streamline processes, eliminating unnecessary interactions and steps to create the most efficient user experience.

I design function-representative icons following a material design approach—practical, simple, and intuitive. All icons are compiled into a single “sprite” file, which loads just once per visit, minimizing server queries. We also fix browser console errors, common issues that many websites encounter.
Our interfaces are designed to be responsive, supporting a minimum screen resolution of 1024×768, as well as tablets and mobile devices. All images are optimized to the smallest possible file size without compromising quality, ensuring the fastest load times.
Our efforts have been recognized—Harvard University invited their graduate students to intern at OVUONG. Building on that momentum, we hosted top Harvard graduate students for two consecutive years, collaborating on VietnamAtoZ, a local search platform that I conceptualized and designed from start to finish. VietnamAtoZ later earned a spot in Forbes Vietnam’s Top 10 Outstanding Startups of the time.
Alongside VietnamAtoZ, we launched ImFriday, a project specializing in designing and selling wedding invitations, birthday cards, and grand opening invitations. Our unique and exclusive card designs attracted many customers looking for one-of-a-kind creations.
Another key project was Vinacharm, a travel information-sharing platform covering destinations across the country. It allowed users to find accommodations, dining spots, shopping areas, and detailed itineraries to explore their desired locations effortlessly.
Our fourth major project was Weddingday, a one-stop-shop wedding planning platform. Designed for busy couples with limited experience, Weddingday provided full-service event organization, ensuring a memorable wedding day with the help of a professional and dedicated team of collaborators.
